Week 19!

Great News!
I am down another pound! I'm a little nervous because I'm on the brink of turning a corner and reaching a major milestone for me. However, I'm excited in the weeks to come to share it with you all. I won't breathe another word of it, until it happens.
Kim: - 1 lb
Total: -23 lbs
Tony:
Now, for the sake of anything. Tony is not happy that all his progress is being reported on my blog. LOL He's not so much on the inspiration page as I am. So...shh... (in other words, don't tell him you read it on here!...a little bird told ya!)
Tony has now lost a total of:
*huge drum roll
*Another 5 lbs gone!
Total weight loss:
- 51 lbs
So very proud of him. The thing with Tony, he is doing it all by watching what he eats and making sure he has his breakfast in the morning. Amazing what eating healthy and clean does.

Kim: - 1 lb

Tony: -2 lbs

N.B.:

I've hit a milestone!!! 20 lbs gone and only 10.1 pounds to onderland! In addition, I fit into a size 14 jean. I've had these brand new expensive jeans for over five years, they never fit. At one point, I had a six inch gap to reach the zipper. Yesterday, they slipped on like a glove!!

Confessions!

Tony's Confession

Tony weighed himself this morning and he is down another 1 lb. I proceeded to tell him that I've been recording his weight loss progress...and after a long pause: "I have something to tell you." -Great I thought, he's been lying about his weight loss.

As a matter of fact, his starting weight was much greater than he had originally told me. He was embarrassed. However, his current weight remains the same. So he has lost alot more weight than I've been recording!

Wow!!! So he had originally told me (and I will only post this today...and then perhaps as we go further down the road) 303 lbs was his starting weight, when in fact his last recorded weight at his physician's was 312 lbs. This morning he weighed in at 272.0 lbs for a total weight loss of ....

40. 0 lbs!!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

******Edit:

I received an email question regarding Tony's weight loss. Tony has lost this weight WITHOUT any working-out (unless you consider golfing...riding the golf cart a work-out...than he's worked out more than a top bodybuilder! LOL). Tony has had two back surgeries, and in order for him to begin working out, he believes he needs to take more weight off. He carries his weight all in his stomach, so it is a HUGE load on his back.

How did he do it?
By eating three healthy meals a day. Following Rob Lagana's (www.langanafitness.com) advice. By ruling out sugar, eliminate ALL carbonated drinks and white carbs etc... Tony has taken control over his diet in a natural, healthy way. The results are showing off on the scale weekly!

Change is in the AIR!

I've noticed some changes happening on my body
and wanted to share with everyone my progress:

  • My boobs are shrinking! Almost time for some new bras.
  • Underwear shopping is in my future. All my underwear are too big!
  • I can see muscles forming again! Welcome back!
  • Some clothes are fitting better and are quite loose.
  • An old pair of jeans that I had put away, they fit again!
  • Last year's fall jacket is WAY to big! (Strange though as I was the same weight as last year, however someone mentioned to me that I'm most likely losing FAT this time. Which makes a HUGE advantage on the body.
  • I have so much energy.

Tony ...Tony...

The guy lost 3 lbs but was to humble to tell me because he's flying and I'm just chugging along. A loss is a loss, no matter how little or in Tony's case...how big.

So Tony is down for a total of 16 lbs! YAHOO for him!

Week 1!

Okay! So numbers are in! :>

Kim: - 4 lbs!!!

Tony: - 8 lbs!!!
(damn him! ha ha ha)

So a great start for sure. Four pounds for me is HUGE! I used to work my butt-off for a pound every two weeks! It was really discouraging and frustrating. So Rob's advice is really working. (Not that I doubted you Rob :>.) Tony, is on a roll. I'm so happy that he is seeing results. This is the guy that 'starved' himself to lose weight in the past. So eating well, and lot's, plus drinking water does not equate in his mind as a way to lose weight. But, it does. Moreover, Tony even was asked yesterday if he was losing weight by someone. Good for him. He sure can use the confidence boost.

I have had only one HUGE sugar craving thus far. Which amazes me. But, I'll stop talking about it, otherwise my mouth will start to crave it...lol! I have stayed away from breads pretty much and found that I don't even miss it. (Sorry, Lene...my trainer at Goodlife used to ALWAYS preach to me about my breads. It finally clicked) What is most amazing is that it doesn't even hurt! ha ha ha In fact, I have kashi cereal for breakfast in the morning, and I'm off to a good start. I don't really miss breads...and when I do have them, it's whole grain or NOTHING!

Also, I wanted to report that my kids have not even noticed the juice change over! NADA even from Carmy!

My goals for the week ahead are:

- work-out 4 times
- yoga one day
- water (at least 8 glasses a day)

Tomorrow, Tony and I have a wedding to attend. I've blogged about this a zillion times, and I apologize. I too am sick of saying it myself, I'm not looking forward to going out, overweight AGAIN! However, I know that EVERY overweight person out there can attest with me, that's how we feel. Every cloud has a silver lining, and here it is for us, the fact that Tony and I are on a journey together of better health!

I will post a photo of us next week!

Have a healthy day!

That 100 lb Club is Within Reach...

Good day!

Let's start from the top! Another pound gone! That's 36lbs now! It's peeling off, I keep reminding myself slow and steady wins the race! In addition to this, my clothes are getting really baggy. Which is good. I'm four pounds away from saying a final good-bye to the 200 club. I was thinking that I need a reward...like a big reward! I'm tossing the idea of a new work-out outfit from Lulu, because I'm floating in all my work-out gear right now. Besides, I need some pink! :> Also, I'm really looking into buying a new pair of UGGS. SOOOOO....getting into the 100 club is a big DEAL! It's a huge accomplishment. That will make me 40lbs lighter. So why not buy 40 pounds worth? Just kidding! I've decided that my reward is going to be: a new work-out outfit from Lululemon, a new gym bag (with some pink) and some UGG boots!

I've been consistently going to the gym in the morning, it's been a week and that's a record for me. It really feels satisfying! I've been inspired by season 5 winner of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" Ali. What can you say but; wow! Ali has lost a total of 112 lbs. She has absolutely no loose skin. I'm very impressed by that. Often you will see people who lose weight appear saggy and droopy. Some get plastic surgery to remove loose excess skin. Ali surely sets an example against this. Her secret? Is that nutritionist listening? WEIGHT TRAINING! :> She does quite a bit of cardio too. I have incorporated her secret to tight arms in my work-out regime. I highly recommend you google her and see her before and after photos. Absolutely inspiring to say the least! Go Ali!

The rower is what Ali feels is the secret to her hot arms! So, on my cardio days, I will be following Ali's advice and doing ten minutes of rowing holding on one way, and ten minutes the other. I also will continue to do Tracy's Anderson's DVD's. I like some alternatives to my training.

For those of you reading, who contemplate saying: "I just have no time to work-out" I can say to you; because I've been there. There are 168 hours in a week. That is ten thousand or so minutes. If you look at it that way; can you not fathom giving your body, mind and spirit 60 or so minutes a week?

Have a great day!
Kimmy
